About this Fabric
Warli art is a tribal art form of the Warli community from the Palghar district of Maharashtra. The original art uses simple geometric shapes — circles, triangles, and squares — to depict scenes of daily village life, harvests, dances, animals, and nature. On fabric, Warli motifs are printed using screen or block print techniques, traditionally in white pigment on a dark earth-tone base (black, brown, terracotta, or dark green). The result is a striking, graphic, and culturally rich fabric with a distinctive folk character. Warli Print fabric is popular in the ethnic fashion, home décor, and artisan export segments.
